STATE HOUSING MANDATES WILL IMPACT EAST NORWALK

East Norwalk property owners should know the TRUE impact of controversial housing legislation that will be voted on soon in Hartford. There are repercussions that aren’t disclosed within the Bill language or by developer-backed proponents.  The consequences of this bill are far-reaching and will be irreparable.

Bills like “Fair Share Housing” and “Live Work Ride” will put undue burdens on towns and cities to create and fund dense population, especially around transit hubs such as the East Norwalk Train Station. The result will be even more luxury, market rate apartment units that do nothing to create the true affordable housing and reasonable paths to ownership that are urgently needed.

Portions of these proposed Bills call for “as of right” multi-family zoning that wouldn’t even require a single public hearing to be approved, all while virtually eliminating single-family zoning within a 1/2 mile radius –  and also eliminate ALL minimum parking requirements.

Listen, learn, and act now because Zoning Impacts Everything!
