The East Norwalk Metro North Station will be closed in both directions starting Saturday, August 17, 2024 and re-opening Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024. No parking at the train station on either side of station.  The north side of the station and platform will be de-constructed and a new temporary platform will be installed during this phase of the East Norwalk Train Station Improvements.

Norwalk Transit will provide the shuttle service, same as last closure.

The Parking Authority will honor permitted parkers to the SONO station, as in March.

If you need to make other arrangements for travel to/from the SONO station during this temporary closure, this would be a good time to start planning.

The Train Station upgrades include extending platforms on both sides of the station to accommodate six train cars, new platform canopies, and improved parking and access – including a dedicated drop-off lane.

Construction began in March 2024 and will take approximately four years. During this time, four separate (3-week-long) temporary train station closures will occur at the station.

Thank you for your patience – the project is making important progress on making the East Norwalk Train Station a better customer experience for all travelers.
