Actions update since May 25 meeting
| Zoning Department (Dori Wilson) sympathetic to EANA interest in extending the Village District but says planning and Public Hearing process would need to start over if areas are added in at this stage. Additions possible in the future | |
| EANA working with the East Norwalk Beautification Committee, had the privilege of coordinating the East Norwalk Neighborhhod Traffic meeting for Mayor Knopp | |
| EANA represented at Citywide Traffic Summit at the East Norwalk Neighborhood Meeting on May 30. Members presented information and submitted a written document regarding local traffic conditions and suggested solutions | |
| DPW notified re concern for safety of school children using striped street area on Strawberry Hill Avenue as a walkway. Better public awareness needed. City needs to contact public and in particular the schools to educate people | |
| EANA represented on June 12 at the Mayor's Follow-up meeting to the Neighborhood Traffic Summit meetings. Summary printed by city contained substantial amount of information from the document EANA submitted. Able to offer explanations to the points documented | |
| Follow-up letter mailed from EANA to those who attended the East Norwalk Traffic meeting thanking them for their participation |
Key items discussed at June 23 meeting
| More information and planning re the landscaping business (non-conforming use through variance) at 89B Strawberry Hill Avenue | |
| Three cars parked on front lawn of a residence on Myrtle Street -- sidewalk is cracked. Zoning will be contacted | |
| Commercial vehicles and business operating out of a residence on Raymond Terrace. Police and Zoning will be called | |
| Enforcement needed for speeding | |
| Point system needed for repeat speeders | |
| Mention was made that a recent letter to the editor in The Hour was negative re speed bumps | |
| No parking signs to keep commuters from parking are effective and we will not support having them removed | |
| Development on Westport Avenue of past not good -- big box. Recent addition near Strawberry Hill Avenue with residential apartments above is a great improvement | |
| Tree inventory of street trees continues. More volunteers needed by the Norwalk Tree Alliance to get the job done. Meet every other Saturday at 9 AM at 2 Maple Street (in back). Next day is June 29 |
